Wrecksite EU On the 17th November 1916 she most probably struck a mine and sank in the North Sea South East of Montrose laid by German submarine UC-29 (Ernst Rosenow) when on route from Methil to Scapa Flow carrying a cargo of coal in service as an Admiralty collier. Listed as a 23 year old Ship's Officer and resident of Llandedrog, at the time of his initiation in 1916. He advanced no further than that of Entered Apprentice, called to a higher service before he could take the Fellowcraft's. The contribution record shows that he was "Killed in Action Decr '16," a couple of weeks later than official record.
