Detail :
The only individual bearing the name to be found with a corresponding date of death is a Private who was killed in France. It seems unlikely that having served in 1916 as a C.Q.M.S in Bermuda, that he would have been reduced in rank. Further information on Leonard's military career and his movements are required.

The masonic record shows Leonard as a Company Quarter Master Sergeant (C.Q.M.S.) in the register of Broad Arrow Lodge No. 1890, at Bermuda when he was initiated in 1916. He is listed as such in the 1921 Book. The contribution record shows that he "Died Nov.1916," but following it, under a different hand is the further note "Killed in Action 1/11/16."
