Detail :

SS Hesperides, built by Bartram & Sons, Sunderland in 1899 and owned at the time of her loss by British & South American Steam Nav. Co. Ltd. (R. P. Houston & Co.), Liverpool, was a British steamer of 3393 tons. On April 25th, 1917, Hesperides, on a voyage from Buenos Aires to Liverpool with general cargo, was sunk by the German submarine U-69 (Ernst Wilhelms), 130 miles NW1/2W from Fastnet. 1 person was lost.
