Service Life:

Campaigns:

Unit / Ship / Est.: Army Pay Corps

Action : Post War

Post War includes all operations in all theatres up to 31st August 1921. This excludes the campaign in Russia against the Bolsheviks. It also includes men who succombed to wounds post war and who died from various causes whilst still in the services but post war.

He is recorded as a builder when initiated into Freemasonry in 1918. He was around Maldon /Colchester in this year so his entry into the Army Pay Corps could have been very late in the war effort (noting that he is a Corporal - so some time or experience). Having died and been buried in Lexden, it is doubtful that he saw active service abroad.
