The fate of the SS Colorado is recorded on Wrecksite EU. "On October 20th, 1917, the British steamer SS Colorado, on a voyage from Hull to Alexandria with a cargo of coal & coke, was sunk by the German submarine UB-31 (Thomas Bieber), 1.5 miles east of Start Point. 4 persons were killed. Allen Tony 21/08/2007 Colorado was a 7,165grt, defensively-armed British Merchant Ship. On the 20th October 1917 when 1½ miles East from Start Point she was torpedoed without warning and sunk by submarine. 4 lives lost. ref. used:His Majesty'S Stationary Office, British Merchant Shipping (Losses) WW1."
