His death was reported with just on entry on the 13th July, 1916 in The Scotsman, but the day previous (the day after his death, The Western Mail also reported that "Cardiff Naval Officer. Out obituary column this morning contains an announcement of the death in hospital at Brindisi of Lieutenant W.P. Parker, R.N.R., which occurred on Tuesday [11th]. Deceased was the husband of Mrs. Kate Jane Parker, of 32, Burlington-terrace, Canton."

The War Grave record show he is "concentrated" into Bari War Cemetery, Italy together with the cause of his death: "PARKER, Lieut. William Pearn. R.N.R. H.M.S. "Mazanita." Order of the White Eagle 5th Class with swords (Serbia). Died of typhoid 10th July, 1916. Age 40. Son of Mrs. Parker, of Exmouth, Devon, and the late Mr. Parker; of Exmouth, Devon, and the late Mr. Parker; husband of Kate J. Parker, of 32, Burlington Terrace, Penhill, Cardiff.

Probate provides further context: PARKER William Pearn of 32 Burlington-terrace Cardiff lieutenant in H.M. Royal Naval Reserve died 10 July 1916 at the Ospedale Secondario Regia Marina Brindise Italy Administration Llandaff 29 November to Kate Jane Parker widow. Effects £311 17s. 11d.
