France & Flanders covers all the dates and corresponding locations which are outside the official battle nomenclature dates on the Western Front. Therefore the actions in which these men died could be considered 'normal' trench duty - the daily attrition losses which were an everyday fact of duty on the Western Front.

Henry was a prolific Freemason in the North West Provinces who joined Lodges wherever he was stationed: He was a 30 year old Sergeant at Murree when initiated into the Lodge Light in the Himalayas No. 1448, on the 26th June 1894. He resigned 31st March, 1896, rejoining 22nd May 1906 (as a Conductor) and resigning again 30th September, 1910.

He joins Lodge Light of the North No. 1308 on 16th April, 1898 now listed as a Captain resident at Dalhousie. He resigned this lodge 30th September, 1899. On 15th February, 1899, listed as a Sub-Conductor [Comt.Dep] and resident at Mian Mir, he joins St. John the Evangelist Lodge No. 1483. He resigns this lodge 31st December, 1903, probably because he is posted to Peshawar. He joined Lodge Khyber No. 582 at Peshawar, twice once 22nd October, 1902, resigning 30th June, 1906 and rejoining 17th February, 1910 listed as a Conductor resident at Peshawar. He resigns a second time 31st August, 1914. He was also became a joining member of Cabul River Lodge No. 3225 at Nowshera in 1907. He resigned this lodge 28th February, 1915.

Eventually he joined Prince Albert Victor Lodge No. 2370 at Lahore on the 27th October, 1910 where he is listed as a Conductor resident at Peshawar and where he was a member until his death in 1915. Lastly, he was also a joining member of Invicta Lodge No. 2440 at Chakrata 21st June, 1913. He is a listed as Lieutenant resident at Chakrata. He remained a member of this lodge until his death "Died 26/12/1915."

He was a Past Master and Past District Grand Deacon (Punjab)
