Early Life :

The 1910 Medical Directory shows that Sydney had left the UK and was practicing in Dunedin, New Zealand. 20 years later he is still practicing in New Zealand in New Plymouth.

3/4031 Captain, New Zealand Medical Corps, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. His embarkation to Southampton aboard HMNZT 101, Vessel Tofua from New Zealand was late in the war on 2nd March 1918 arriving in the UK 8th April, 1918

He is commemorated for his service on the Auckland Museum Online Cenotaph.

Listed as a Doctor resident at Great Ormond Street, London at the time of his initiation in 1907 into De Grey & Ripon Lodge. He was 28 years old. He resigned 1 year later, but rejoined when he arrived back in the year following the war again resigning 1 year later, most likely when he returned to New Zealand.
