The records of the Tennant Lodge No. 1992 show that David joined on 8th May 1913 from Lodge 2068. Tennant Lodge's register at the United Grand Lodge of England shows the annotation "Died on Active Service". His Mother Lodge, Portsmouth Lodge of Temperance, shows he was initiated in February 1910, but resigned in 1913, corresponding with him joining Tennant (i.e. he let his membership run out at his Mother Lodge. His age is recorded as 24 when read, but the transcriber has misinterpreted to 34. His real birth year should be c.1884 and not c.1876.
