John Henry Clayton was listed as aged 29, employed "Q.M.S." (Quarter-Master Sergeant) and resident at Fort George, Guernsey when initiated into Mariners' Lodge No. 168. His war service is recorded 1916-17 and then, in the 1918 column..."Killed April 1918." Listed as Company Quartermaster Sergeant on the roll of the 1921 book.
