William is a 36 year old Clerk, resident at East Ham at the time of his initiation into Freemasonry. He was passed in the following month and then took his last ceremony in January, 1911.
Despite the military record showing that he died in Norfolk, it states in the Lodge record at the United Grand Lodge of England that he was "Killed in Action 1918", which may be indicative that there is more story and perhaps William was injured abroad and casevac back to UK, where he unfortunately died.
